Right now, I’m trying my best to play The Witcher. No special reason, I only need a change from all those FPS-fest I went through.

After playing it for a while, I started feeling what Yahtzee said. This is a single player mumorpuger.

Now, to quote Yahtzee again, when a game started to feel like work, it saps all the fun. And yet people still playing those kinds of game.

Take one example, Diablo 2. It is over a decade old now, and I still find people playing it. Why is that?

Another example goes, the game I mentioned above, The Witcher. A lot of people complained about its complicated inventory system, long load times, and constant crashes. And it still get nice score from reviewers.

Maybe its the story that people cares about, but Diablo doesn’t really have any deep storyline, and yet, again, people like it.

Gameplay? They both pretty much using the standard point-click scheme, though it was upgraded a bit in The Witcher.

I’m not sure what else to write, I’ll continue this post later.
