Have you ever heard the band ‘Lamb of God‘?

Me neither.

But a quick search gave me some insights. 

Why, you ask, do I suddenly talk about a heavy metal band?

Simple, a friend of mine gave me some tracks from their album. It is nicely labelled as ‘Track #’ where # is number between 3-14, minus 4, 8, and 12.

Well, I presume she thought that I don’t actually like these kinds of music, but that’s dicing with fate, and fate wins.

Anyway, I listened most of it, And I like them.

This is not weird in any kind of way, I don’t have any specific musical preference; pop, ballad, rock, visual kei, heavy metal, classical, pretty much I have something I like from a genre. Never heard any black metal, though.

Now, back to the-album-that-I-don’t-even-know-the-title by the-band-that-I-just-heard-about. This album is filled with typical heavy metal style, heavy guitar distortion, lots of screaming and growling, bass notes that blends with the guitar, like I said, typical. But it’s not bad at all, like I said, I kinda like it.

I heard track number 13 first, not for any good reason, mediamonkey just gave me that one first when I click ‘play now’. Started with a lot of drum beats, and growling, I thought it will be a normal heavy metal track. I was right for a the first minute, but the reff itself is potrayed silently, started with only vocal and accoustic guitar, then the electric guitar joins, and the drum. Call me crazy, but I really like that kind of phasing.

Now, I already heard all of them, but the one that gave me the chill is track 13, maybe because I heard that one first. The others have prettty much the same style.

So, do I recommend them? Yes, if you are into heavy metal music, I heartily recommend them. But if you aren’t, well, it is up to you, really.

Another piece of advice, not much people are into heavy metal music, so please, if you are listening to them do so at reasonable volume. Or, of course, use headphones, like I am using. Again, listen to any kind of music at reasonable volume, so you don’t damage your ears. 

EDIT: It turns out that ‘track 13′ that I mentioned isn’t Lamb of God’s, It is from Avenged Sevenfold. Oh, well…
